Big three ready to re-arm with heavier shot

One week after collectively producing the greatest boys high school shot put competition in history, juniors Adrian Pipier, Jordan Geist and Bronson Osborn are back at it again to find out who will represent the U.S. at World Juniors in Poland this summer. 

Last week, in front of a 300 sepectators oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over each big throw, Piperi pulled out a huge two-foot PR to surpass Geist and win the New Balance Nationals Outdoor title by six centimeters. 

There were 14 throws over 21 meters by four different throwers. Six guys went past 65 feet.

This weekend at U.S. Juniors, the size of the shot increases from 12 pounds to 6 kilograms (13.2 pounds) for the junior shot.


The HS record in the junior shot is 67-9 by Willie Morrison in 2015. That record is in jeopardy this weekend.
